CD93 is Selectively Expressed on Human Myeloma Cells but Not on B Lymphocytes
Background: CD93 has originally been known as a C1q receptor, and many studies have demonstrated that CD93 is expressed on hematopoietic stem cells, B cell progenitors, myeloid and monocytic cells. Moreover, CD93 is shown to be expressed on long-lived plasma cells, and CD93 deficient-mice display an impairment in plasma cell development. Objective: To investiga...
متن کاملPeripheral blood lymphocyte phenotype of ZAP-70⁺ and ZAP-70⁻ patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.
BACKGROUND Up to now, the immune status of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients in association with the expression of zeta-chain-associated protein kinase 70 (ZAP-70) in leukemic cells has not been evaluated. AIM The aim of this work was the study of the peripheral blood (PB) T-lymphocyte phenotypes in ZAP-70-positive (ZAP-70(+)) and ZAP-70-negative (ZAP-70(-)) untreated patients with ...
متن کاملMacrophage colony-stimulating factor (CSF-1) is expressed by spontaneously outgrown EBV-B cell lines and activated normal B lymphocytes.
Human B lymphocytes activated by mitogens or infected by Epstein Barr virus (EBV) have previously been shown to release colony-stimulating activity (CSA) supporting the growth of normal human bone marrow progenitors. We established five different human EBV-B cell lines spontaneously outgrown from nonmalignant peripheral blood cells and long-term bone marrow cultures. CSA derived from all of the...
متن کاملAntigens expressed by human B lymphocytes and myeloid stem cells
Antisera prepared against papain-digested spleen cell membranes were known to by cytotoxic for normal and neoplastic human B lymphocytes and for a majority of acute and chronic myeloid leukemic cells. It is now shown that these antisera are also cytotoxic for normal myeloid stem cells (CFU-C), thus providing a probable explanation for their occurrence in myeloid neoplasia.
متن کاملZAP-70 methylation status is associated with ZAP-70 expression status in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES ZAP-70 expression is a recognized prognostic marker in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). The aim of this study was to analyze whether the methylation status of the ZAP-70 gene is associated with expression of the ZAP-70 protein. DESIGN AND METHODS Patients with CLL (n=87), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (n=13), mantle cell leukemia (n=13) and splenic marginal zone ly...
